The Office of Public Guardian (OPG) say they have registered over 8 million Lasting Power of Attorney documents. 1.37million of which arrived in 2022/23 which was a 30% increase on the year before. However, they still rejected 50,000 for major spelling mistakes, poor handwriting, and incorrect information.  With an ever increasing number of people filling forms in online, one statistic that is not available is the number that fail to do what is required at the point they are used because somebody unknowingly selected the wrong option.
