How do I find the Trust?

If the Trust you are looking for is a private Trust, then you may find tracing the Trust difficult if you don’t know what it is called, who created it or who stored it. The first place to start is the Trust Registration Service where it is possible to submit a Trust data request, but you must be able to prove that you have a legitimate interest in the Trust, such as you are a named beneficiary. Again, without knowing what it was called or who put it in place you are going to find things tough. It is for these reasons we always recommend that if you are setting up Trusts you make sure that the people involved, Trustees, Beneficiaries know as much about the Trust as is possible so that they are able to locate it and use it in the way that it was intended when the time comes.
