Will per Country

I already have a Will in my home country.  Is that enough?

If you have assets in more than one country then it is always advisable to have a Will in each country where they are located.

Why do this?

Each country will have its own succession laws and they may not recognise the laws in the country of your home

Forced heirship is common throughout Europe and you will needs to comply with this local rules. Forced heirship means that the country decides who gets your assets not you.

There are often local tax regulations that apply and a local Will can handle these more successfully than a Will from you home country

Although not guaranteed it is likely that Probate will be more complex with a Will from another country

Generally we recommend that you get a Will in every country where you have significant assets and that these Wills make reference to each other so that it is clear where the master Will is held
