Can I set up conditions or stipulations on an inheritance?

Yes, you can set up conditions and specific stipulations in both a Will or a Trust that are designed to ensure that the intended beneficiaries gain the inheritance in the way that you wish.

The conditions must be clear, achievable and of course lawful to be valid.

The most common of these are you cannot inherit until you reach a certain age or the funds are to be used for educational purposes.

If the condition that you are looking to put in place are more complex than this often people use Trusts inside their Wills to achieve them because in a Trust you can describe to a Trustee what you are trying to achieve and make then responsible for achieving it
