As Executor why am I going to do Probate? If you are an Executor then…
Medical Donation
Can I make a medical donation in my Will?
Yes, you can, this can take two forms. You can gift money to a medical charity with a very simple instruction in your Will naming the charity in full and its registered charity number. Depending on the size of your gift relative to the size of your estate there is the potential to reduce the rate on Inheritance tax on the rest of your estate should it be due at all. Currently it will change from 40% down to 36% if the donation is greater than 10% of the net value of the estate. You can also donate your body to medical research. This a little more involved and requires the formal consent of the medical facility involved. Once obtained then you must make sure that your executors are fully aware to prevent if nothing else a funeral taking place too soon. If you are considering either of these options then get in touch so we can guide you through the detail of what you will need to know.
