Storage

Is storage of my Will important?

When you first think of this subject you are just thinking where should I keep it so I don’t lose it and that is fair enough why pay for something then lose it before you can use it.
I can’t really argue with this, but the other day I got a different perspective on storage that hadn’t crossed my mind before. I was with some industry colleagues, and they were telling me about a case they had that put a very different light on storage. They were working with a family where the daughter phoned to ask if they had a copy of the Will because the son didn’t like what was in his Mum’s Will, so he tore it up and totally destroyed it. He knew that he had destroyed the original and he also knew that his Mum couldn’t replace it as she had passed thus trying to make the estate intestate which would improve his situation significantly.
We always request a copy of the signature page for our files but using that involves going to court and a large amount of expense when the alternative is using our secure storage facility for a fraction of the cost.
Give me a call if you want to know more.
